James McAvoy (
Last King of Scotland) and Morgan Freeman have signed on for the science-fiction flick,
Wanted. This will be the english-language debut for Timur Bekmambetov (
Nightwatch). It's based on a comic about an assasin (McAvoy) who is recruited to follow in the footsteps of his long lost (and now dead) father. Mr. Freeman will play mentor, as suspected as much.
I am quite excited about this news. One of the first projects in pre-production that doesn't make me hate Hollywood. They could still fuck this one up by hiring Teri Hatcher as a love interest or something. Here's hoping they don't.
