It's all about the production design

In honor of Michel Gondry's new flick, Be Kind, Rewind, Filmmaking Frenzy held a contest for parody/remakes. The best one so far is The Thing by Team Syracused. They've got flames going, fake blood, even a severed head prop!

Beware though, it's very hit or miss, especially the ones starring people in their mid forties. For example, this Lebowski one is okay, but another one I saw was just crap made by some nerds.

And if you have a place in your heart for David Bowie, you owe it to yourself to watch the Labyrinth parody.

My One and Only

Happy Birthday David Bowie!

He may be 60 years old, but he will always be hot in my mind. And Labyrinth is one my favorite films of all time (even with the obscene tights).

Look at all the money's he's made (Stereogum).
